MEXICO: Mis fotos favoritas/MEXICO: My favourite shots

I have had a great time in beautiful Mexico. Below a summary in images.

Oaxaca

Chili is a basic ingredient in Mexican cuisine and it is hot!

Monte Alban:Before the Conquest.. indigenous people had beautiful things... there is little left but it is to be enjoyed to the day.

Mexico remains a very catholic country but people are hungry and thirsty for God. My friend was able to share the Gospel with a lady as we were visiting!

Tule

The oldest tree in the world: an ahuahuete of 2000 years! Isn't God's creation amazing?

Ciudad de Mexico/Mexico City

La catedral de Ciudad de Mexico.

Mexico City's cathedral.

This is the biggest bakery I have ever ever seen. I mean it: it is GIGANTIC. The "sweet bread" as it is called is baked in all shapes, tastes, colours. And people come to get their daily portion.

Lots of people, workers mainly, are very unhappy about some of the politics today. There was not one place I went that I did not see some demonstrations of some sort. Many are waiting for the next government to be elected in 2012.

Tlayacapan

Tlayacapan is one of the many towns, mainly touristy, where many, especially from DF, come to escape the big city. The former convent of Saint John the Baptist was declared World Heritage in 12996. It has 21 chapels. But I wonder how much devotion there really is.

The views in Morelos are breathtaking...

Ceramic is very varied and important part of the culture.

Cuernavaca

Cuernavaca has been called "the city of eternal sunshine" but the cutting of trees continues... The cathedral is naked of images and it has had problems with the eclesiastic authorities for not being catholic "enough".

Food is maybe, I dare to say, the most important aspect of the mexican culture. Maybe it is if the latinamerican culture in general. It all happens around the table. But not only food but relationships.

The "Zocalo" is the place to gather. Lots happen here.

There is much more but this is to give you a little taste...
