El primer día del año hice una excursión de subida al Tibidabo. Esta son algunas de las fotos. ¡Cómo disfruté! ¡Cuán bonita es Barcelona!

Cape Town 2010 - Impresiones/Impressions

Sería imposible plasmar las muchas impresiones, observaciones, lecciones aprendidas que pude experimentar participando en el Congreso Mundial para la Evangelización del Mundo en Cape Town el pasado Octubre. Pero aquí algunos pensamientos y reflexiones:

- No puedo perder el estar maravillada por el Evangelio.

- El Evangelio es verdad y no tengo porque avergonzarme.

- Todo está relacionado con Jesús.

- Sé paz, haz la paz, predica la paz. Pero no puedo hacerlo si yo misma no estoy en paz.

- El Evangelio deber ser moldeado por nosotros.

- ¿Tengo suficiente compasión por las personas?

- ¿Estoy preparada a ir dónde sea?

- La unidad no es organizacional o demonstracional. Es espiritual.

El programa Buenas Noticias TV emitió el pasado domingo 2 de Enero un programa enteramente dedicado al Congreso. Son apenas 15 mn y ¡vale la pena! ¡No te lo pierdas!

It would be impossible to summarize the many impressions, observations, lessons learnt that I was able to experiment as I participated of the Third Lausanne Congress for World Evangelization in Cape Town last October. But below a few thoughts:

- I cannot loose being in awe with the Gospel.

- The Gospel is true and I do not have reasons to be ashamed.

- It is all about Jesus.

- Be peace, make peace, preach peace. But I cannot do it if I am not myself at peace.

- The Gospel needs to be modeled by us.

- Do I have enough compassion for people?

- I am ready to go wherever?

- Unity is not organizational or demonstrational. It is spiritual.

The Spanish TV programme "Buenas Noticias" showed a whole session on the Congress last Sunday (January 2nd). It is only 15mn and very worthwhile if you understand Spanish! Enjoy!

¡Feliz Navidad! - Merry Christmas!

«La virgen concebirá y dará a luz un hijo, y lo llamarán Emanuel» (que significa «Dios con nosotros»). Mateo 1:23

Más pienso en lo que significa "estar en casa" más me maravilla el hecho de que Jesús nació, vivió entre nosotros y prometió no dejarnos NUNCA. ¡Cuántas razones para gozarnos y celebrar! Muy feliz Navidad a todos.

More I think of what "being at home" means more I marvel at the fact that Jesus was born and lived amongst us and promised NEVER to leave us. Many reasons to rejoice and celebrate! Merry Christmas to all of you.

Historias de Caminos - Walking Stories (1)

La experiencia de caminar el "Camino de Santiago" con mi hermana (todavía por contaros) fue tan positiva que ahora me he unido a un grupo de amigos que salen una vez por mes para hacer las etapas del Camino de Santiago Catalán.

El sábado 27 de Noviembre salimos del Pérthus (Francia) con la idea era llegar hasta el Castillo de Montroig (cerca de un pueblo llamado Biure). Íbamos a caminar 15 kilómetros.

Lo que menos esperábamos era la aventura que teníamos por delante: una etapa caracterizada por pérdidas. Tardamos una hora en encontrar el principio del camino y no fue hasta el tercer intento. Pero hubieron fueron varias las ocasiones después en las que no tuvimos claridad en el camino.

¿Cuál fue el problema? Señales pobres, señales confusas, falta de señales. Las señales son importantes, si no están o son confusas, nos crea un verdadero problema.

Tuvimos que aventurarnos a pesar de las dudas. Y la gran lección fue que, a pesar de todo hay que seguir caminando, porque realmente no nos quedaba otro remedio.

La primera iniciativa fue la mía, yo me sentía segura de la dirección a tomar pero después de más de 20 minutos caminando tuvimos que parar y pensar. Y lo peor... llegar a la cuenta de que ese no podía ser el camino (íbamos en dirección a Francia) y que había que regresar teniendo que asumir una pérdida de tiempo inmensa. Pero para mí una de las cosas más hermosas fue experimentar que nadie se enfadó ni me echó la culpa del error. De hecho... luego fueron otros los que tomaron la iniciativa equivocándose a su vez en la dirección del camino. Pero éramos y asumíamos ser un equipo. Y el equipo está para las buenas y para las malas.

Así en la vida: hemos de escoger un camino y caminar en él. Para ello hemos de buscar y encontrar las señales. No siempre es fácil y a veces vamos a caminar en el camino equivocado teniendo que regresar y asumir la pérdida. Pero como dijo Machado "se hace camino al andar" y como dice la Biblia: "todas las cosas llevan a bien...". O como dice el refranero: "no hay mal que por bien no venga". Y si podemos hacer el camino acompañados, mejor todavía.

Conforme llego al final de mi pensar... recuerdo un "pequeño" detalle: ¡nos dejamos las instrucciones en casa! ¿Hubiese esto marcado una diferencia? Quizás sí, quizás no. Obviamente no si las señales en el papel eran tan malas como las señales en el camino. Pero creo que la próxima vez... traeremos las instrucciones por si acaso.

Estoy en el camino, el camino de la vida. En estos meses tengo tiempo de evaluarlo, pensar en él, reconocer las señales. Y es un verdadero privilegio.

Jesús dijo "Yo soy el Camino, la Verdad y la Vida, nadie viene al Padre si no es por mí". En este camino quiero seguir... siguiendo a Jesús.

The experience of walking the "Camino de Santiago" with my sister (still need to tell you about it) was so positive that now I have linked with a group of friends that meet once a month to walk one stage each time of "The Catalan Way of St James".

On Saturday 27th of November we left from Pérthus (France) aiming to reach the Castle of Montroig (near a small town called Biure). We were going to walk 15 km.

What we were least expecting was the adventure that laid ahead of us. A stage characterized by getting lost several times. It took us one hour to find the right way and it was only after the third try. Later on there were several other occasions where we did not have clarity on the way to take.

What was the problem? Poor signs, confused signs, lack of signs. Signs are important, if they are confusing or there are none we have a real problem.

We had to take the challenge despite the doubts. And the great lesson was that despite all we need to keep walking because there are no real other options.

The first initiative was mine and I was so sure about my direction but after 20 minutes of walking we had to stop and think and realize that we were going in the complete wrong direction (towards France) and we had to walk back assuming the precious loss of time. One of the most beautiful things for me was to realize that nobody got upset or blamed me for my poor discernment. Iterestingly enough others had to undergo the same experience later on as they made their own mistakes leading the group astray. But we were a team and were assuming as a team. The team is there for good and bad.

So it is in life, we have to choose a direction, a way, and walk in it. For this reason we need to search and find the signs. It is not always easy and sometimes we walk in wrong paths having to then turn back and assume the loss. But, like Machado said, "we walk by walking". Or as the Bible says: "all things work together for good". Or as a famous saying says: "there is no bad that does not bring some good". And if we can walk in company, it is even better.

As I come to the end of my thoughts I remember an important "small" thing... We left the instructions at home! Will that have made a difference? Maybe yes, maybe not. Obviously not if instructions on paper were as bad as the signs on site. But I think next time... we will take the instructions, just in case...

I have started the way, the way of life. These days I have time to evaluate it, to think about it, to recognize signals. It is a real privilege.

Jesus said: "I am the way, and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father but through me". This is the way I want to follow, I want to follow Jesus.

Cape Town 2010: 16-25 de Octubre

En unos días estaré viajando a Cape Town, Sudáfrica, para el tercer Congreso de Lausanne para la Evangelización del Mundo. Algunos recordaréis que fui a un encuentro del mismo movimiento en Malasia en el 2007 para jóvenes líderes. Hay muchos recursos disponibles para seguir este congreso online, ¡así que me podéis acompañar! Y cuento con vuestras oraciones. Gracias.

In a few days I will be travelling to Cape Town, South Africa, to participate at the third Congress of the Lausanne Movement for World Evangelization. Some of you may remember that I attended the Young Leaders Congress in Malaysia, also from the Lausanne Movement, in 2007. There are plenty of resources available to follow the congress online. El Camino se hace al andar - The Way is made by Walking

El sabático comenzó con una aventura: Caminar las seis primeras etapas del Camino Francés del Camino a Santiago de Compostela con mi hermana Olga. Caminamos un total de 136,9 kilómetros (sin contar nuestras andadas en los pueblos de llegada para visitar). ¡Este es un resumen visual usando algunas de mis fotos favoritas de dicha aventura! Sabbatical started with an adventure: Walking the first six legs of the French Way of the Santiago de Compostela Trail. I did it with my sister Olga. We walked a total of 136,9 km (not counting all the whereabouts in the towns of arrival). This is a visual summary using some of my favourite photos of our adventure (will continue...).
